ASTRIELLE WILLIAMS
Graphic Design
Within my work I explore diverse topics, such as mental and emotional processes, self-reflection, and personal experiences. I strive to use forms of elements to help craft purpose, impact, and deliver clarity towards the projects I create. My work practice is informed by a process-based material exploration meaning the art is fixated on the experience and the exploration of tools, materials, and techniques.
With my current body of work Unattended Dinner, I created unusable flawed dishware in relation to missing an important experience and the absence of someone. Specifically, the familiar and intimate experience of dining with family. This reflects my current situation and emotional turmoil caused by the pandemic. Loneliness is the key emotion being conveyed through this work. The installation is set of dishware each uniquely designed and molded differently to denote the different personae of each family individual.
