MEGAN KYLEE TRAN

Art & Technology

My practice is a personal perception through a visual dimension. My collages, video, and instillations explore the relationship between how I view the world as paradoxical, and allegorical, such as pieces possessing multiple meanings and opinions. With the outlet of art, I can initiate my reign of developments in paint, through a camera, and found recycled material. Unlike other things, I can actually call it my own creation and develop new realities that are intertwined with my being. My work evolves as I do, as I grow and adapt in work practice and as an artist. My purpose is to construct a subconscious memorable image for the viewer, to revisit and have an internal altering conflict of what it symbolizes. Within my 2D work I like to include multiple elements and media including found and scavenged collage and digital photography to create a message with common themes of abstract, the female body, and self-identity. I find my work to be very personal to myself but in hope the viewer gets a sense of feeling that I share, I try to avoid being too literal. I want the concepts to be raw, shockingly truthful, and intimate. Within my experimental film work and performance, I blend narratives that are naturally relatable and mentally engaging. Keeping in mind what I have learned I try to produce that work that is visually pleasing, as well as conception satisfying to myself.
